Product Description
PhireGuard EL-22 is a medium molecular weight flame retardant that is primarily used in flexible polyurethane foams. Its improved resistance toward hydrolysis makes it suitable for both polyester and polyether polyol-based polyurethane foams. The other specificity of PhireGard EL-22 lies in its high purity and extremely low content of low molecular weight by-products that are often encountered in similar flame retardants. As a result, PhireGuard EL-22 has a very low odour and provides superior VOC performance to the polyurethane foam. Examples of fire standards that can be met using PhireGuard EL-22 are UL 94, Cal TB 117 parts A and D, FMVSS 302. It can also be associated with a synergist (i.e. melamine) for the production of foams that meet the requirements of BS 5852 Crib 5.
